Last night Andrew attended an event hosted by Newcastle University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris Brink, to celebrate Kinewell Energy’s success at The IET Innovation Awards.

The issue includes a section on substations, where the KLOC software's ability to calculate the cost sensitivities of the optimised inter-array cable layout to moving the substation was featured. Kinewell Energy’s revolutionary KLOC software has been shortlisted for two prestigious international innovation awards. The software, developed in North Tyneside, UK, can reduce the cost of Offshore Wind by up to £30m per GW through more efficient inter-array cable layouts. Between Europe, Asia and North America, 250 GW of offshore wind projects are planned.
